Get To Know Dr. Christopher Peterson

Dr. Christopher Peterson has been a part of this practice for most of his life. Even before attending dental school he worked in almost every other position in the office, from receptionist to maintenance man. He feels very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with his father Jon Peterson before he retired. Dr. Petersons goal is to continuing to provide the quality care that this practice was founded on while adding the skills and knowledge his is constantly improving upon through continuing education.

Dr. Peterson works hard to stay at the cutting edge of dentistry and attends as much continuing education as possible. He is well versed in everything from full mouth surgical restoration to soft tissue plastic surgery. He is the proud founder and leader of a Dental study club where him and his colleagues meet monthly to share and learn from each other. Through this study club, Dr. Peterson and his colleagues engage in in-depth discussions, case presentations, and educational seminars, aiming to elevate the standard of dental care in their community.

Dr. Peterson strives to make sure that every person he treats is made to feel as comfortable and informed as possible. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. His hobbies are surfing, snowboarding, skiing, bicycling and traveling.

Dr. Carson Hunt

Dr. Carson Hunt's calm demeanor and exceptional clinical skills make him a perfect fit for Peterson Periodontics. He earned both his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and completed his specialty training in Periodontics at the UCLA School of Dentistry. Dr. Hunt’s philosophy of patient care is rooted in trust, honesty, and education. As he explains, “My personal philosophy for patient care is based on mutual trust, honesty, and education. I strive to create an environment where patients feel comfortable, informed, and confident that their care is my highest priority.

‍In addition to providing patient care, Dr. Hunt is committed to advancing the profession through continuing education. He regularly lectures and provides continuing education courses in periodontics for dental professionals throughout the San Diego area. As a Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, Dr. Hunt has achieved the highest level of certification in his specialty, reflecting his dedication to excellence in patient care.

Originally from Northern California, Dr. Hunt is proud to now call San Diego home. Outside of the office, he enjoys hiking and scuba diving with his wife and taking advantage of everything Southern California has to offer.

After a thorough cleaning by one of our hygienists, you’ll meet with Dr. Peterson and receive a comprehensive oral exam, complete with any necessary x-rays. We spend the extra time to address your concerns and discuss the state of your gum health with you before outlining a unique treatment plan tailored to your needs. Before leaving, we can also schedule any future visits.
